William Hendrix raced single-seater sports cars in national championships across the United States. His primary series were SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors, where he competed in one-design Spec Racer Ford cars, and he also contested American Endurance Racing as a shared-car driver in mixed production-based machinery across Classes 1, 2 and 4.[1]
His record across five seasons from 2018 to 2024 totalled 57 starts and 16 podiums. At SCCA Regionals level he was most successful, taking seven wins and eleven podiums from 14 starts; at SCCA Majors he managed one win and three podiums from 29 starts, with a single Runoffs appearance in 2024. His endurance racing yielded one win and two podiums across 13 starts in a multiclass field.[2]
Hendrix rated as a club-level competitor. He ran closely with Craig Chase, the 2023 SCCA Regionals SRF3 champion, and regularly finished behind James Goughary, a competitive amateur with experience across Star Mazda and US F4. He occasionally beat stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Misha Goikhberg, a professional with IMSA WeatherTech and Trans-Am credentials, once, and topped Joseph Maley, an entry-level professional with SCCA Majors experience, on three occasions.
