Joe Magalotti is a developing amateur competing in a national solo sprint series, racing a Porsche 993 in the GTS4 class of NASA's multiclass championship. He spent nine seasons in the series from 2011 to 2019, running almost entirely for a single-car Porsche 993 programme that also fielded Christian Maloof.[1]
Across 33 starts, Magalotti took four wins and thirteen podiums, finishing third in the NASA championship standings in his final season of 2019. His record sits in the middle ground of the field he raced in. He usually finished ahead of developing driver Timothy Haines, a regular opponent over their NASA meetings, but regularly trailed Edward Baus, a club-level driver with substantial experience across NASA, PCA Club Racing and International GT racing.[2]
Among stronger drivers, Magalotti beat semi-professional Mike Ward three times across their meetings in the series, and took one result ahead of entry-level professional Tanner Rumburg. His podium finishes across nine seasons suggest he was able to run competitively within his class, though his championship position in 2019 reflected his standing in a field that ranged from amateurs to graded professionals sharing the same multiclass grid.
