Justin Gibbs is a developing-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur, semi-professional and professional drivers on the same grid. He competed in the Spec Miata class, driving a Mazda MX-5 Miata in spec trim, over five seasons from 2012 to 2016 with 55 starts across the series.[1]
Gibbs finished 98th in the NASA championship standings in his final season of 2016, which comprised three rounds. Across his five-year record he typically finished behind his regular rivals; Brett Gabriel, a club-level driver who raced NASA regularly, and Hernan Palermo, an entry-level professional who also competed in Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, both regularly outpaced him. He finished ahead of Parker Chase, a professional-level driver who has raced IMSA Pilot Challenge and ARCA, on one occasion, and beat Danny Soufi, another professional-level competitor, twice.[2]
