Kent Harmon is a club-level driver who raced in PCA Club Racing, a national multiclass championship in which amateurs and professionals share the track across sixteen classes. Between 2013 and 2016, Harmon competed in the GT3 and GT4 Porsche classes, driving for four seasons before retiring.[1]
Harmon won six races across twenty starts and finished on the podium in fourteen of them, a consistent record that culminated in a fourth-place championship finish in 2016. He took three wins that final season from six rounds entered. His results came against a field mixing semi-professionals and graded professionals with his regular competitors; he typically finished ahead of developing and club-level drivers such as Frank Powell and Roland Schmidt, who raced PCA Club Racing regularly throughout this period.[2]
Harmon occasionally raced against stronger drivers on the grid. He finished ahead of Jeffrey Schmidt, a Silver-graded professional who had competed in ADAC GT Masters and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, and beat Maurice Smith once, a Bronze-graded professional and two-time Le Mans Cup LMP3 champion.
