Maurice Smith is a professional endurance racing driver, FIA Bronze graded, who raced LMP3 prototypes in multiclass championships across Europe and North America. He drove for COOL Racing, a Swiss team fielding multiple drivers at the top level, for the bulk of his indexed career from 2019 to 2022. His record spans eight seasons of racing from 2014, beginning in PCA Club Racing and progressing to international endurance competition.[1]

Smith won the 2022 European Le Mans Series LMP3 title driving for COOL Racing, taking two wins and four podiums across six starts that season. He also drove for the team when it won the 2021 Le Mans Cup LMP3 championship, scoring two wins and four podiums from 20 starts in that series across four seasons. His record in Road to Le Mans, a feeder series for Le Mans Cup competition, yielded three podiums from eight starts. Before moving to prototype racing, Smith spent four seasons in PCA Club Racing, primarily in GT4 and SP1 Porsche classes, where he took seven wins and ten podiums from 23 starts.[2]

Smith's strongest results came against established professionals in the fields he contested regularly. He finished ahead of Tom Dillmann, a Gold-graded driver and former champion of Formula V8 3.5, Le Mans Cup and IMSA WeatherTech LMP2, on three separate occasions. He also beat Malthe Jakobsen, another Gold-graded professional and two-time Asian Le Mans Series champion, twice in head-to-head competition. In regular competition he ran closely matched with Anthony Wells and Rob Hodes, both Bronze-graded professionals with substantial endurance racing experience across the same series he contested. The team achieved its title success as part of a competitive grid mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in shared-car prototype racing.
