Michael Johansson is a professional racing driver competing in Formula 3 Macau, a single-class sprint championship that draws amateur and semi-professional entrants alongside graded professionals. He raced for Tommy Jagerwall across three seasons from 1986 to 1988, with seven starts in the series.[1]
Johansson competed against a field that included established professionals and future champions. He regularly finished behind Jan Lammers, a driver who went on to race Formula 1 and international sportscar championships, and Jean Alesi, who won the 1989 International Formula 3000 and later raced Formula 1 for several seasons. Despite the strength of the competition, Johansson took a podium finish ahead of Johnny Herbert, an established professional with a long Formula 1 career, and finished ahead of Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 world champion, once during his time in the series.[2]
