Martin Okun is a developing amateur competitor, rated 400, who raced for eleven seasons across three series between 2008 and 2019 before retirement. His 41 starts yielded three podium finishes and no wins, with an average finishing position of ninth place, placing him in the lower tier of club and regional racing where drivers are still building consistency at the entry level of organised motorsport. His record reflects competitive racing against amateur and semi-professional fields rather than established professionals.[1]

Okun's primary focus was PCA Club Racing, where he made 30 starts across a decade without winning. He struggled consistently against the series' stronger regulars; he finished behind James Rothenberger, a multiple PCA Club Racing SP2 champion, in all ten of their shared races, and behind Rodrigo Herrera, another three-time SP2 champion, in all nine of theirs. His head-to-head record against David Mann and John Barna, both more accomplished drivers, was similarly negative, winning only a handful of encounters against them across multiple meetings. He added seven starts in American Endurance Racing during 2016 and 2017 without scoring points, and four NASA races in 2008 and 2009 that produced two podiums. His final three races, in 2019 PCA Club Racing, saw him finish eleventh without return to the podium.

Okun's most notable results came against stronger drivers who visited the amateur fields he inhabited. He finished ahead of Christina Lam, an FIA Bronze-graded sportscar driver, on one occasion, and beat Eric Rockwell, a semi-professional competitor, twice. These isolated results are noteworthy for the calibre of opposition but do not alter the pattern: a developing driver working in club racing without establishing himself among the front runners in any series he entered.
