Matt Round-Garrido was an entry-level professional racing in Formula Regional Americas, a national single-seater championship that fields amateurs and professionals together. He made six starts across two seasons from 2020 to 2021, finishing 16th in the championship standings in his final year.[1]
Round-Garrido raced against a field that included the series champion Kyffin Simpson, an established professional who went on to compete in IndyCar and Indy NXT, and Jordan Missig, another entry-level professional who has since raced in Indy NXT and Indy Pro 2000. He finished ahead of Simpson once and also beat Ernie Francis Jr, a Trans-Am champion, on one occasion. Against Missig, a regular opponent at this level, the two drivers were closely matched. Round-Garrido's limited starts and mid-field championship position reflect a competitive amateur to semi-professional field; he remained unranked in terms of race wins across his indexed seasons.[2]
