Matteo Cassina is a competitive amateur who raced in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance championship where production-based cars and near-standard saloons shared the track with graded professionals and semi-professional regulars. Cassina competed for Team DMV e.V. across three seasons from 2010 to 2012, taking the wheel in the SP 7 and V6 classes.[1]
Cassina made four starts in the series and finished with two podiums. His final appearance came in 2012, when he placed 37th in the championship standings. Among his peers, he typically finished ahead of semi-professional regulars Michael Luther and Martin Tschornia, who would go on to win the 2013 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie Cup 4. Cassina also beat two professional drivers in single instances: Paul Breslin Sean, who won the 2011 V6 championship, and Lorenzo Rocco, a professional with 23 starts in the series to his name.[2]
