Mickey Moran is a club-level driver who raced spec Mazda Miata in national American motorsport from 2016 to 2023. His primary series were SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors, multiclass championships mixing amateurs and professionals in 25-class grids, where he drove a 1990-2005 MX-5 in the SM class. He finished 71st in SCCA Regionals points in his final season of 2023 across seven rounds.[1]
Moran made 19 starts over three years of racing. His most extensive work came in SCCA Regionals, where he ran 13 times between 2022 and 2023; he also started four SCCA Majors events in the same period and two NASA Spec Miata races in 2016. His record shows him regularly finishing behind established regulars including Julian DaCosta, an entry-level professional and Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup champion who has raced extensively in the series, and Antonio Abrom, a competitive amateur and World Racing League champion. Moran beat the professional Jake Walker and entry-level professional Bobby Gossett once each, both drivers with substantial experience across multiple series.[2]
