Mitch Wright is a competitive amateur racing solo sprint events in national and international single-class championships. He drives a Mazda MX-5 in spec trim, competing in NASA's Spec Miata class and the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin. His most recent activity is with NASA, where he has four starts across the 2024 and 2025 seasons.[1]
Wright has eight indexed starts across two series spanning 2017 to the present. His first racing on record came in 2017 and 2018 with the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, where he made four starts for McCumbee McAleer Racing and finished 24th in the championship standings in 2018. He returned to competition in 2024 after a gap of several years, joining NASA's Spec Miata field. In that time he has finished ahead of entry-level professionals including Ashton Harrison, who has raced extensively in Lamborghini Super Trofeo and the Whelen series across 48 starts.[2]
