🇧🇷 Roberto Moreno

Roberto Moreno is a professional single-seater racing driver competing in NASA's Super Touring 5 class, where he races production street cars. He drives for SPEC E9X. Across his career, which began in 1985, Moreno competed in Formula 1, International Formula 3000 and IndyCar before returning to circuit racing in 2025.[1]

Moreno won the 1988 International Formula 3000 championship with Bromley Motorsport, taking five wins and nine podiums across 27 starts in the series. He joined Formula 1 in 1987 and raced there for nine seasons with Forti, accumulating 43 starts and a single podium finish. His career included five IndyCar starts between 1999 and 2008, split between road and oval racing. In his current season with NASA, he sits 24th in the championship standings after ten rounds run so far.[2]

Moreno's Formula 3000 peers included Jean Alesi, the 1989 champion of that series, against whom Moreno typically finished behind, and Pierluigi Martini, an established professional with whom Moreno proved closely matched. He finished ahead of Alain Prost, a four-time Formula 1 world champion, once during their careers, and ahead of Mika Häkkinen, a two-time Formula 1 champion, on five occasions.
