Zhendong Zhang is a competitive amateur racing in national multiclass endurance championships at the Nürburgring. He drives for Hyundai NMotosport and Target Competition, racing TCR touring cars and turbocharged production-based machinery across the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the Nürburgring 24 Hours.[1]
Zhang has contested seven starts across two series since 2023, taking three podiums. His results have come in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he scored two podiums in five starts across the TCR and VT2 Front classes, and at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where he has one podium from two attempts in the SP 3T and TCR classes.[2]
His regular opposition in these grids includes the 2022 World Touring Car Cup champion Mikel Azcona and the established Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and World Touring Car Championship professional Marc Basseng; Zhang typically finishes behind both. He has on occasion outpaced stronger drivers, including the established professional and multiple formula champion Jack Aitken, and the Formula 1 and Platinum-graded Christian Klien.
