Tom Sager is a competitive amateur racing solo single-seaters in national amateur and semi-professional multiclass championships. He drives spec Mazda Miatas in the SCCA Majors and SCCA Regionals series, competing since 2011 with 34 career starts across three championships.[1]
His record centers on the SCCA Regionals, where he has taken two wins and nine podiums from 13 starts since 2022. He has also made 17 starts in SCCA Majors and four starts in NASA's multiclass Spec Miata championship, adding one podium in the latter. His 2026 season in SCCA Regionals is ongoing; through four rounds he holds one win and four podiums, currently sitting 17th in the championship standings with more racing to come.[2]
Sager races regularly against entry-level and semi-professional Miata drivers, typically finishing behind Tyler Brown, an entry-level professional, and Tom Brown, a competitive amateur at his own level. He has twice beaten Gar Robinson, an established professional and two-time IMSA LMP3 champion, and once finished ahead of Aaron Jeansonne, a professional who has raced in the Whelen Mazda Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup.
