Torsten Kornmeyer was a competitive amateur racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance championship run at one circuit in Germany. He raced a GT4 car in the SP 10 class for SFG Schönau e.V., sharing the machine with co-drivers across 2011 and 2012. Kornmeyer started six times and finished 24th in the series standings in his final year.[1]
His single podium came within a field that ranged from amateurs to graded professionals competing in the same races. He regularly encountered entry-level professionals such as Henry Walkenhorst and the two-time SP 10 champion Norbert Bermes, finishing behind them in most meetings. Kornmeyer took one result ahead of Max Partl, an FIA Silver-graded professional who later won the Cup 5 championship at the same venue.[2]
