Andreas Schmidt is a competitive amateur racing in American single-class and multiclass endurance series. He competes primarily in NASA's Spec3 class for spec-built 1993–1995 BMW 325is, where he has been a regular since 2023. He also races in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in various production-car classes and has made occasional appearances in shared-car endurance racing.[1]

Schmidt has taken 17 wins and 41 podiums across 58 NASA starts since 2023, establishing himself as a front-runner in the Spec3 field. His record in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie spans from 2014 onward; he has one win and five podiums from 34 starts in that series' multiclass endurance rounds. He added three starts in American Endurance Racing in 2023 and one appearance at the 2019 Nürburgring 24 Hours. Across all series he holds 18 wins and 46 podiums from 96 starts.[2]

Schmidt races regularly against Taylor Johnson, a fellow competitive amateur with substantial NASA experience, and typically finishes ahead of developing drivers like Bob Ross on the grids he encounters. His record includes finishes ahead of Esteban Guerrieri, an established professional and FIA Platinum-graded driver who won the 2012 Indy NXT championship and the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup, and Néstor Girolami, an established professional and FIA Gold-graded competitor in the World Touring Car Cup and TCR World Tour.
