Eric Zimmermann was a competitive amateur racer who drove BMWs in the BMW CCA Club Racing CM class from 2011 to 2014, then switched to Porsches in PCA Club Racing's GTB1 class in 2016. Both series run multiclass national championships mixing amateurs and professionals on the same track; he raced solo, one driver per car.[1]
Zimmermann took four wins and eight podiums across 13 starts. In BMW CCA Club Racing he won twice and finished on the podium five times in eight starts over four seasons. He moved to PCA Club Racing in 2016, where he won twice more and took three podiums in five starts, finishing 13th in the season championship.[2]
He raced regularly against Robert Chang, a competitive amateur with extensive BMW CCA Club Racing experience, and typically finished ahead of club-level driver Isidore Papadopoulos, a regular opponent with eighty BMW CCA starts on record.
