Ben Pon was a Dutch racing driver and vintner who made a single Formula 1 appearance at the 1962 Dutch Grand Prix, driving for Porsche. He started the race but did not finish in the points, completing the event in twentieth position. His recorded motorsport career on the single-seater stage was minimal; the one Grand Prix start represents the entirety of his Formula 1 involvement.[1]
Pon's broader racing activities extended significantly into sports car competition, a field in which he accumulated considerably more experience than his Formula 1 record might suggest. He later withdrew from competitive motorsport to pursue the wine trade, becoming known as a vintner. Beyond racing, Pon represented the Netherlands in clay pigeon shooting at the 1972 Summer Olympics, finishing 31st in the skeet event, making him one of the select few drivers to have competed at an Olympic Games.[2]
