Leon Koehler is a semi-professional driver; his rating of 3,239 places him in the competitive amateur band, describing a driver quick enough to race against professionals but typically finishing behind them in established series. His sole season of competition came in 2021, when he entered three rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup NA for MRS GT-Racing. He did not finish on the podium and ended his season in thirteenth place overall.[1]
Koehler's three starts all came against the same field of rivals, a group of FIA-graded Silver and Gold professionals and national champions. He did not finish ahead of any of the top-ranked drivers in this group; against Seb Priaulx, an FIA Gold graded driver and former champion, he was outfinished in all three races. His head-to-head record was mixed against the others. He beat Riley Dickinson, a two-time champion, once; he finished ahead of Dylan Murry in one of their three meetings; and he outran Maxwell Root and Sean McAlister twice each. These isolated wins show he was competitive enough to trouble strong drivers occasionally, but the pattern across the season was one of consistent outpacing by a field of established professionals.
