Sven Schömer is a semi-professional driver competing in the Ferrari Challenge one-make series. His rating of 3,290 places him at the semi-professional level, meaning he wins in pro-am and one-make classes and runs consistently at the front of such fields, though well below the threshold of the national championship contenders and established professionals who form the strongest ranks of motorsport. Across three seasons from 2024 to 2026, he has completed 25 starts in the Ferrari Challenge, securing four wins and sixteen podiums for Penske Sportwagen Hamburg, with an average finishing position of fourth.[1]
Schömer's strength within his field is evident in his head-to-head records against the most frequent competitors. He has finished ahead of Pino Frascaro in all 16 shared races, and holds winning records against Aleksei Komarov (12 ahead, 2 behind), Shintaro Akatsu (10 ahead, 2 behind), and Paolo Scudieri (9 ahead, 2 behind) despite these rivals being graded with FIA Bronze status or carrying higher ratings. However, his record against Jan Sandmann and Andreas König, both rated around 3,250–3,278, reveals the tighter competition at his level; he trails Sandmann 3 ahead, 9 behind, and splits with König 6 ahead, 5 behind. He has occasional results against stronger drivers such as Ernst Kirchmayr and Qwin Wietlisbach, though these remain isolated victories rather than patterns of competitive edge.
In 2025, Schömer claimed the Ferrari Challenge S-AM championship, and he remains active in the series into 2026, where he has continued to perform at the front with one win and four podiums across six rounds, finishing sixth in the season-long standings. His consistent podium rate of 64 percent across his career, combined with his championship success, confirms his position as a capable competitor within the one-make formula.
