Piero Scotti was an Italian driver who made a single Formula 1 start in 1956 for Connaught. He entered the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on June 3, finishing twenty-eighth and without points. His sole appearance in the World Championship marked the entirety of his recorded racing career.[1]
Scotti competed in the era when Grand Prix grids regularly included drivers with limited track experience alongside established professionals. Connaught, the team that fielded him, was among the era's smaller constructor efforts; the marque recorded no victories across its index and typically ran drivers without championship credentials, though Stirling Moss, a front-running professional of considerably greater standing, also drove for the team during this period. Scotti's single race produced no results of note and he did not continue in international racing.[2]
