Bob Schacht is a retired American stock car racer who competed as an entry-level professional across six starts spanning four decades. He raced in single-class national championships in the United States: a single start in NASCAR Xfinity in 1984, two starts in Trans-Am TA2 driving a tube-frame V8 silhouette car in 2019, and three starts in the ARCA Menards Series between 2015 and 2023, the latter mostly fielded by Engineered Components.[1]
His ARCA career, which spanned from 2015 to 2023 with a gap of several years, saw him race primarily on ovals, with one appearance on a road or street course. He returned to ARCA as a driver in 2023 after having fielded cars for other drivers following his initial retirement from driving. His most recent racing activity came in Trans-Am TA2 in 2019, where he finished 23rd in the championship standings across two rounds. In his limited indexed starts across all series, he finished ahead of professional drivers including Matt Tifft, who has extensive experience in NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series competition, and L.D. Ottinger, who had recorded over 200 Xfinity starts.[2]
