Matt Tifft is an American driver whose career has spanned stock car and sports car disciplines, including a notable stretch away from competition due to health issues. Diagnosed with a brain tumor and later epilepsy, Tifft saw his driving career sidelined from late 2019 through the end of the 2023 season, during which time he shifted into ownership, becoming part owner of Live Fast Motorsports alongside B. J. McLeod and Joe Falk and, in the process, the youngest team owner in NASCAR Cup Series history. His business and racing profile earned him a spot on the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Since returning to competition, he has continued to race in Super Late Models as well as Trans-Am's TA2 category.[1]
In Trans-Am TA2 competition, Tifft holds a record of 69 career starts with no wins and two podium finishes, and has not claimed a championship in the series. His current Racer Rating stands at 3,568, placing him 637th among active drivers on a scale where the sport's elite typically range from 10,000 to 11,500, reflecting a competitive but modest standing within the broader field. In the 2026 season, Tifft has completed two rounds without a win or podium, sitting 50th in the standings. Now officially retired from the series, his career reflects both the challenges of overcoming serious medical setbacks and a sustained presence across multiple facets of American motorsport, from driving to team ownership.[2]
