Matt Tifft is a professional driver who spent most of his career in NASCAR's national series, competing primarily on ovals. He raced in NASCAR Xfinity for Joe Gibbs Racing from 2015 to 2018, a top-tier team that fielded elite professionals including Denny Hamlin. His most extensive single-series campaign came in Xfinity, where he took four podiums across 77 starts, the vast majority on oval tracks.[1]

Tifft's record spans eight seasons from 2013 to 2024 across five series, accumulating 163 starts and ten podiums. He began in ARCA Menards, where he recorded six podiums in 25 starts for Dragon Alliance. He moved through NASCAR Truck with 25 starts for Red Horse Racing before joining Joe Gibbs Racing in Xfinity, where he remained a regular for four seasons. In 2019 he stepped up to NASCAR Cup Series, where he started 34 times; medical issues then sidelined him from the end of that year until late 2023. He returned briefly to racing in 2024 with two starts in Trans-Am TA2, finishing 26th in the championship standings.[2]

In his strongest series, Xfinity, Tifft typically finished behind established professionals such as Daniel Hemric but regularly ahead of Ross Chastain, who later became 2022 NASCAR Cup Series champion. He finished ahead of elite professionals including Denny Hamlin three times and Christopher Bell thirteen times across their shared races, though both moved on to become multiple-series champions at a level above his own career peak.
