Court Vernon is a semi-professional driver, rated 3,627. This level describes drivers who win in pro-am and one-make classes and compete mid-pack among full professionals; they are typically paid drivers outside the top championships.[1]

Vernon raced in single-seater machinery across three seasons between 2007 and 2010, with only five starts recorded. His career consisted of one appearance at the SKUSA SuperNationals in 2007 and four starts in the Star Mazda Championship between 2008 and 2010, driving for Team GDT except for a single outing with Andersen Racing. He finished without a win or podium across all five starts, averaging a finishing position of 13th. His most recent activity came in 2010, when he completed three rounds of Star Mazda and finished 23rd in the final round.[2]

Vernon raced consistently against a field that included several drivers who would go on to establish themselves as stronger competitors. Among his frequent rivals were Conor Daly and Connor De Phillippi, both FIA Gold graded professionals; Daly won the 2010 Star Mazda Championship, the same year Vernon raced in the series, and De Phillippi would later win the 2025 GT World Challenge America Pro. Vernon finished behind all three of their shared races against each. He did beat semi-professional and professional competitors on occasion, including a single finish ahead of the subsequent 2011 Star Mazda champion Tristan Vautier, and outran FIA Gold driver Mikaël Grenier once. Against Rusty Mitchell, a professional-level competitor, Vernon won their head-to-head across four shared races, 1–3. His record suggests a driver competitive within the pro-am tier but outpaced by the front-running professionals in his field.
