Clay Brown was an entry-level professional competing in NASCAR Xfinity, a single-class oval racing championship in the United States. He raced in the series for three seasons between 1992 and 1994, accumulating ten starts across its national field of amateur, semi-professional and professional drivers.[1]
Brown finished 45th in the 1994 championship standings, his final season of recorded activity. His regular competitors included professionals with substantially deeper experience in the series; he typically finished behind Robert Pressley, who went on to make 244 starts in Xfinity, and Ricky Craven, who raced 142 times at that level. Brown beat Elton Sawyer once, a driver who would race 392 Xfinity starts, and Jeff Purvis once in a 187-start Xfinity career.[2]
