Clifford Allison was a professional stock car racing driver competing in NASCAR Xfinity, the national-level single-class championship. He raced for Owen Racing across his indexed career from 1990 to 1992, competing almost entirely on oval circuits.[1]
Allison made 22 starts in NASCAR Xfinity over three seasons, finishing 42nd in the final championship standings in 1992. He was a regular in the series, meeting established professionals including Jeff Burton, with whom he was outpaced consistently, and Robert Pressley, against whom he was closely matched. He finished ahead of Jeff Gordon on four occasions and Elton Sawyer five times, both established professionals in the series.[2]
Allison raced in a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. His record placed him mid-field among the regulars, competitive against drivers of his own level but typically behind the stronger starters in the championship. His career in the indexed database ended in 1992.
