Dean Martin is a Bronze-graded sportscar driver competing at semi-professional level. His Racer Rating of 3,404 places him among amateur and early-career drivers racing in endurance and GT classes alongside professionals. Martin has nine starts on record across the IMSA Pilot Challenge from 2017 to 2025, yielding two wins and three podiums. His average finish stands at P11.2, reflecting inconsistency; the 2025 season has seen him slip to P66 across a single round to date.[1]
Martin's record against established Silver and Gold graded professionals shows mixed results. He has finished ahead of Russell Ward, a two-time champion rated at FIA Silver level, on four occasions across eight shared races; similarly, he has beaten Alan Brynjolfsson, a one-time Bronze champion, four times in seven outings together. Against Trent Hindman, a two-time Gold champion, Martin owns three victories in eight races, though Hindman has outfinished him five times. Conversely, Martin trails Dillon Machavern, a Silver-graded one-time champion, by a margin of 2 finishes ahead to 7 behind across nine shared races, and holds a losing 4-5 record against Matt Plumb, also a Silver-graded champion. The pattern suggests Martin is competitive among amateur and semi-professional fields but lacks the consistency to establish superiority over professional-level rivals.
His primary team, KohR Motorsports, has fielded him for eight of his nine starts and has accumulated eight race wins across its wider operation, with its strongest driver, Alec Udell, rated as a professional. Martin's tenure with the team appears to be concluding; recent reports indicate he has been replaced in the No. 60 Mustang GT4 for the upcoming Daytona round.
