Gianluca Paglicci was an established professional who raced in International Formula 3000, a single-class open-wheel championship that drew amateurs, semi-professionals, and graded professionals into the same field. He competed for Nordic Racing in 1997, the only indexed season of his career.[1]
Paglicci made a single start in International Formula 3000 that year and finished 26th in the final standings. His sole outing came against a field that included Craig Lowndes, an FIA Platinum-graded driver who went on to become a Supercars Championship regular, and Boris Derichebourg, a professional who accumulated 23 starts in the series. Paglicci finished ahead of both.[2]
