Henning Schirra is a club-level driver who raced in national endurance championships. His only indexed season was 2010, when he competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance series run at the Nürburgring, driving a turbocharged production-based SP 2T car for ALPECIN-SCHIRRA motoring.[1]
Schirra made nine starts in the 2010 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season and took three podiums, finishing eighth in the championship standings. He drove against established opposition; his regular rivals included Friedrich von Bohlen, a professional with extensive Nürburgring experience and a Nürburgring 24 Hours record, and Michael Bohrer, who would go on to win the SP 2T class title that same season. Schirra typically finished behind both. He beat the Bronze-graded professional Franjo Kovac once and the Silver-graded entry-level professional Moritz Oestreich once among stronger drivers he encountered.[2]
