Markus Oestreich is a semi-professional racing in national multiclass endurance series at the Nürburgring, competing for True Racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. He drove KTM X-Bow machinery in the Cup-X class and GT4 and TCR cars in the series' production-based categories across a 12-season career from 2010 to 2021.[1]
Over 30 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie, Oestreich took 7 wins and 14 podiums, establishing himself as a regular front-runner in a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with occasional graded professionals. His record included victories over Christian Krognes, an FIA Gold-graded professional and 2012 champion of the SP 3T class, and over Luca Engstler, a professional with 36 DTM starts. In the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Oestreich won twice in three starts between 2019 and 2021, taking podiums in both appearances.[2]
Oestreich finished ahead of Timo Frings, the 2010 Langstrecken-Serie SP 2T champion, more often than not across their meetings, and regularly beat Matthias Wasel, a competitive amateur with over 70 starts across the two series. His strongest finishes came against established professional company; his wins over Krognes across three meetings in a field of 15 classes marked his clearest results against drivers graded higher than semi-professional level.
