Hugh Buckley was a club-level driver racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance championship held in Germany where amateurs and professionals shared the track. He drove Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport machinery in the Cup 3 class and near-standard production cars in the V5 class, fielded by Car #651 for two of his four starts.[1]
Buckley made four starts across three seasons from 2011 to 2016, finishing 24th in the championship standings in his final season. Against the regular opposition in the series, he typically finished ahead of competitive amateur Helmut Baumann and entry-level professional Horst Baumann, a Bronze-graded driver with over a hundred starts in the championship. Buckley also finished ahead of semi-professional Grant Maiman in one of their meetings.[2]
