James McGuire is a retired professional driver who raced predominantly in international and national endurance championships, competing in multiclass and single-class grids where amateurs and semi-professionals share track with graded professionals. He drove for United Autosports across most of his career, fielding GT4 and prototype machinery in the Le Mans Cup, European Le Mans Series, Road to Le Mans, and IMSA WeatherTech Championship between 2016 and 2023. McGuire held an FIA Bronze grade, the amateur and gentleman-driver classification in endurance racing.[1]
Over eight seasons and 63 starts, McGuire took four podiums. His results came primarily in the Le Mans Cup, where he scored one podium across 15 starts; the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, where he finished on the podium twice in seven starts; and a single podium finish in the IMSA Prototype Challenge. He raced the European Le Mans Series across three seasons for a combined 13 starts without a podium, and contested the Road to Le Mans in 13 outings. His most recent indexed racing came in 2022 SCCA Regionals.[2]
McGuire was closely matched against regular opponents of his own level in the Le Mans Cup and European Le Mans Series, holding head-to-head records against Anthony Wells and Adrien Chila, both FIA Bronze professionals with substantial experience in those same series. Among his notable finishes was a result ahead of Louis Deletraz, an established professional and multiple European Le Mans Series LMP2 champion racing at a higher grade, in IMSA WeatherTech competition.
