Jimmy Foster was an entry-level professional racing in NASCAR Xfinity, the national solo single-class oval championship in the United States. He competed part-time for Washington-Erving Motorsports and Key Motorsports between 1997 and 1999, accumulating 16 starts across three seasons before retiring from the sport.[1]
Foster finished 38th in the 1999 championship standings in what proved to be his final season. His career placed him in a field ranging from amateur and semi-professional entrants to established professionals. He regularly raced against drivers with significantly longer tenures in the series, including Elton Sawyer and Mike McLaughlin, both of whom he typically finished behind. Foster finished ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr., the 1998 and 1999 Xfinity champion, once across their meetings, and beat Elliott Sadler, an established professional with nearly 400 series starts, twice.[2]
