Joel Kauffman is an entry-level professional racing in NASCAR Xfinity, a national single-class championship run on ovals and road courses. He drove the No. 12 Supercuts Dodge Charger for FitzBradshaw Racing across two seasons from 2005 to 2006, completing 18 starts in that span.[1]
Kauffman raced primarily on ovals; 17 of his 18 starts came on oval circuits. His time in the series saw him finish 43rd in the 2006 championship standings, the final year of his indexed record. Against the regulars he encountered, he typically finished behind established and elite professionals; he was outpaced most often by Denny Hamlin, an elite professional with 164 Xfinity starts, and Clint Bowyer, the 2008 Xfinity champion. Kauffman nevertheless finished ahead of Hamlin on three occasions and ahead of Kyle Busch, a two-time series champion with 368 Xfinity starts, four times.[2]
