John Wechsler is a club-level racer who competed in national single-class and multiclass championships across six seasons from 2014 to 2019. He raced Mazda Miatas in NASA's Spec Miata class and production-based cars in American Endurance Racing's Class 1 and Class 2 fields, where he shared his entries with co-drivers in the endurance format.[1]
Over 29 starts across both series, Wechsler took eight wins and eleven podiums. His most active season came in 2016 with NASA, where he won twice and podiumed three times from seven rounds, finishing 42nd in the championship standings. He won four times in the Spec Miata class and four times in American Endurance Racing's shared-car format between 2014 and 2019.[2]
Wechsler raced regularly against semi-professional and club-level drivers. He was closely matched with Marc Cefalo, a semi-professional competitor with extensive experience across SCCA and NASA events, and typically finished ahead of club-level regular Devin Gregory. He beat entry-level professionals including Ashton Harrison, a Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup driver and Lamborghini Super Trofeo competitor, once in their encounters.
