Marc Cefalo is a semi-professional racing in national multiclass championships across solo sprint racing in spec Miatas and production cars. He drives for a Mazda Miata operation and has raced primarily in SCCA Majors and NASA since 2007, with occasional starts in SCCA Regionals, SCCA Runoffs and American Endurance Racing.[1]
Cefalo has taken three consecutive SCCA Majors championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024, winning 24 of his 66 starts in that series across spec Miata classes and near-stock T4 machinery. His 47 wins and 87 podiums from 139 total starts place him among the consistent front-runners in his racing. In NASA's Spec Miata class he has 16 wins from 45 starts. His record in SCCA Regionals shows 6 wins from 19 starts, and he has one win in four American Endurance Racing starts across shared-car entries.[2]
Cefalo sits mid-field against the established professionals and semi-professionals who make up the regular grids in SCCA Majors. He has beaten Matthew Payne, an established professional and FIA Gold-graded driver with extensive Supercars Championship experience, on four occasions. He runs closely matched with Nick Leverone, a fellow semi-professional and two-time SCCA Majors champion, and usually finishes ahead of Nicole Cooper-Cefalo, a developing driver who races the same series.
