Luke Shanahan was a competitive amateur racing in SKUSA SuperNationals, a national multiclass sprint championship held in the United States. He competed across three classes: KZ2, S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto, and S5 Junior Stock Moto. His racing spanned four seasons from 2012 to 2015, with six starts recorded across that period before his retirement.[1]
Shanahan finished behind his regular opponents in the series. Against AJ Myers, an entry-level professional with 16 SuperNationals starts to his name, Shanahan typically ran lower. The same pattern held against Cabot Bigham, a semi-professional who had raced both IMSA Pilot Challenge and SuperNationals. On single occasions he finished ahead of Oliver Askew, an established professional and 2019 Indy NXT champion who would go on to race in IndyCar, and Jack Hawksworth, a Gold-graded professional and two-time champion across Star Mazda and IMSA WeatherTech.[2]
