Mark Curlee is a club-level driver racing in national multiclass sprint championships in the United States. He competes in the Spec Miata class, driving a spec-trim Mazda MX-5 Miata in NASA and SCCA competition; his primary team is MAZDA MIATA. His record spans nine seasons from 2018 to 2026, with 102 starts across NASA, SCCA Majors, and SCCA Regionals.[1]
Curlee has taken two wins and eight podiums across his career. He won once in SCCA Regionals in 2022 or 2023 and once in SCCA Majors; his other six podiums came largely in NASA, where he has finished on the rostrum five times across 46 starts. His most recent season, 2023 in SCCA Regionals, yielded one win and one podium from five rounds, though he finished 71st in the championship standings.[2]
He races regularly against club and competitive-amateur drivers; in the multiclass fields he contests, he typically finishes behind established opponents such as Vinnie Baratta and Phillip McCammon, both of whom have significantly more experience in these series. Curlee has twice finished ahead of Matthew Payne, an established professional with a Gold FIA grade and a background in international endurance racing and the Supercars Championship, and twice beaten Connor Zilisch, also an established professional with Gold grading whose career includes NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series starts.
