Brett Kowalski is a semi-professional racing in national solo sprint racing across multiple multiclass and single-class championships in the United States. He races primarily in SCCA Majors, competing in the SM class, which runs spec 1990-2005 Mazda MX-5 Miatas, and the STL class of small-bore production-based tuner cars. He joined the single-class TGRNA GR Cup North America in 2025 with TechSport, driving a Toyota GR86 cup car.[1]
Over six seasons from 2021 to 2026, Kowalski has taken three wins and ten podiums across 68 starts in indexed racing. His primary work has been in SCCA Majors, where he has competed for the full span of his record and earned all three of his wins. He has also raced SCCA Regionals and made three starts in SCCA Runoffs. In his 2025 campaign with TechSport in the GR Cup, he is currently 22nd in the championship standings with nine rounds raced.[2]
In multiclass fields mixing amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals, Kowalski runs closely with semi-professional opposition. He is closely matched with Logan Stretch, a two-time SCCA Majors SM champion with over 100 Majors starts, and usually finishes behind competitive amateur Jim Drago.
