Nicholas Bruni is an entry-level professional competing in solo sprint racing across four national SCCA and NASA multiclass championships, driving Mazda MX-5 Miatas in spec trim. He races primarily for SCCA Majors and Regionals, where he shares a grid of up to 25 classes with drivers ranging from amateurs to graded professionals.[1]
Bruni has raced for eight seasons from 2011 to the present, compiling 77 starts across SCCA Majors, SCCA Regionals, SCCA Runoffs and NASA with 16 wins and 32 podiums. His record is weighted heavily toward Regionals, where he has taken 12 wins from 23 starts. In SCCA Majors he holds 2 wins from 44 entries; at the Runoffs, a national championship-level event, he has won twice in six starts and took victory in the 2025 running. He opened his racing in NASA Spec Miata in 2011 with three podiums from four starts.[2]
Bruni typically finishes ahead of competitive amateurs who are regular opponents in his series, including the 2025 SCCA Majors STL champion Nick Leverone and the 2023 SCCA Regionals SM champion John Hotz. He has beaten established professionals including Gold-graded Matthew Payne twice and Connor Zilisch, who holds 2024 ARCA and 2025 NASCAR Xfinity titles, on three occasions.
