Michael Paatz is a semi-professional driver who raced in national German endurance championships. He competed for mathilda racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie across multiple classes (SP 3T, TCR and VT2 turbocharged production cars), taking two starts in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in crewed cars shared among drivers. His career ran from 2010 to 2022.[1]
Over 53 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie, Paatz took 8 wins and 18 podiums. He was a regular in the series across its full 13-year span, establishing himself as a fixture in a mixed-ability field that included established professionals and graded drivers. He finished ahead of Christian Krognes, the FIA Gold graded 2012 Langstrecken-Serie SP 3T champion, on at least one occasion, and also beat Ben Barnicoat, an established professional who went on to win the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech GTDPRO title. Most often, however, he ran behind competitive amateurs including Matthias Wasel and semi-professional rival Marcus Löhnert, both significantly more frequent competitors in the series.[2]
