Ben Barnicoat is an established professional sportscar driver racing for Vasser Sullivan in the IMSA WeatherTech championship, where he drives a GT3 car. Graded Platinum by the FIA, he has spent the bulk of his indexed career in American endurance racing since 2021. He serves as a factory driver for Lexus.[1]

Barnicoat won the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech championship with Vasser Sullivan after building a career across single-seaters and endurance racing. He contested Formula Renault Eurocup and FIA Formula 3 European in 2015 and 2016, taking six podiums across those seasons, before moving to sportscar racing in 2020. His 52 IMSA starts have yielded nine wins and 21 podiums; he has also raced the World Endurance Championship, British GT, and the European Le Mans Series, where he has one win from three starts. His career totals across all series stand at 140 starts, 16 wins, and 37 podiums over ten seasons.[2]

In IMSA, Barnicoat is closely matched with Antonio Garcia, a Platinum-graded five-time IMSA champion, and with Ross Gunn, another Platinum-graded professional. His record in junior single-seaters placed him against drivers of exceptional calibre; he finished ahead of George Russell and Lando Norris multiple times in Formula 3 European, though Russell and Norris went on to win titles in higher categories and eventually Formula 1. His standing as a mid-field competitor in those junior championships contrasts with his success in the endurance field, where his IMSA title and consistent podium finishes have established him among the front-runners of the professional sportscar grid.
