Scott Pruett is an established professional competing in multiclass endurance racing and single-class oval racing. He races GT3 cars in the GTD class of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, a series that fields amateur and professional drivers together across five classes in each race, and has made NASCAR Xfinity starts for Chip Ganassi Racing. His FIA Silver grade places him below the full professional tiers in sportscar racing, though his record spans two decades and multiple racing disciplines.[1]

Pruett's indexed career runs from 2000 to 2017 across two series. In IMSA WeatherTech between 2014 and 2017, he scored four wins and ten podiums from 33 starts with 3GT Racing, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner in endurance racing. His NASCAR Xfinity appearances came earlier, from 2000 to 2008, with 11 starts heavily weighted toward oval racing; he took one podium from that campaign and finished 31st in the 2008 championship standings. His endurance racing record is the stronger one, where he competed regularly and won races.[2]

In IMSA WeatherTech, Pruett ran closely matched with both Oswaldo Negri Jr., a Silver-graded professional with 39 series starts, and Andy Lally, a Gold-graded professional who has raced nearly 100 IMSA events alongside single-seater and stock-car experience. He finished ahead of Christian Fittipaldi, the 2014 IMSA WeatherTech champion and a Platinum-graded former Formula 1 driver, seven times across their meetings, and beat the elite professional Denny Hamlin, now a NASCAR Cup Series champion, twice in their head-to-head races.
