🇩🇪 Thomas Leyherr

Thomas Leyherr is a semi-professional endurance racing driver who spent eight seasons in multiclass series at the Nürburgring and beyond. He raced primarily for LifeCarRacing and KRAC im ADAC e.V. in BMW machinery, driving one-make cup cars and modified production-based race cars across the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the 24H Series and the Nürburgring 24 Hours.[1]

Leyherr's career ran from 2013 to 2019 with 44 starts and five podiums. The bulk of his racing, 42 starts across nine seasons, came in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie; he made single appearances in the 24H Series in 2017 and at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019. His five podium finishes all came in the national series. He raced for Frikadelli Racing Team in 17 of those starts, an outfit that fielded established professionals alongside him and won 28 races across the index.[2]

Leyherr typically finished behind Michael Schrey, a FIA Silver entry-level professional who won the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie Cup 5 championship twice and competed regularly across all three series. He ran closely with Stefan Kruse, another semi-professional regular in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. Across his career he shared podium finishes with drivers of wider experience; he finished ahead of Daniel Abt, an established professional with 57 Formula E starts and a background in Formula 3 and GP2 racing, and Thomas Neubauer, an established professional graded FIA Gold with 73 GT World Challenge Europe starts.
