Nigel Faulkner is a competitive amateur; his Racer Rating of 2,527 places him in the club racing band, describing a driver active at the front of club fields and entry-level professional competition. His career spans four seasons from 2017 to 2020 with 30 starts across multiple series, though the bulk of his record comes from a single-season effort in the 2018 Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin, where he started 12 times for McCumbee McAleer Racing without reaching the podium.[1]

Throughout his Mazda Cup campaign, Faulkner consistently finished in the middle of the field at an average of tenth place. He struggled against the series' top runners; against Nikko Reger, the 2018 champion, Faulkner finished ahead only once in twelve shared races, and he managed just one victory over Robert Stout, an FIA Silver graded professional, across their twelve encounters. These were isolated results rather than patterns of performance, however, and his overall record shows a driver at the margin of semi-professional competition who could not sustain progress at that level.
