Renaud Kuppens is an entry-level professional racing in multiclass endurance competitions. He holds an FIA Bronze grade, the amateur classification for sportscar racing. His primary current series is Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, where he drives a Huracán Super Trofeo for Micanek Motorsport powered by Buggyra in the Am and ProAm classes.[1]
Kuppens has spent thirteen seasons in indexed racing since 2002. His career began in the FIA GT Championship, where he made forty starts for Marc VDS Racing Team across the championship's 2002–2009 span. After a gap of nearly a decade, he returned to endurance racing in 2019 with four starts in GT World Challenge Europe for Boutsen Ginion Racing. From 2023 onward he has been active in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, taking two podiums across ten starts. His sole win came at the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final, where he claimed victory in a single-round event for Boutsen VDS.[2]
In fields mixing amateurs with established professionals, Kuppens typically finishes mid-pack. He races regularly against Andrea Bertolini, a three-time FIA GT Champion with Formula E and high-mileage GT experience, and usually finishes behind him. Against Bert Longin, an established professional with eighty FIA GT starts, the pattern is consistent. Kuppens has on occasion finished ahead of much stronger drivers; he beat Jake Dennis, a 2023 Formula E champion and Platinum-graded professional, once, and has one result over Fabrizio Gollin, the 2004 FIA GT Champion. These remain isolated instances against drivers who regularly compete at levels well above his own.
