Rob Ecklin is a Bronze-graded amateur competing in national multiclass endurance and sprint series in the United States. He races primarily for Automatic Racing, a small operation that fields multiple drivers across IMSA championships. His indexed career spans eight seasons from 2016 to 2026, with 36 starts across five series; he drives GT4-level production cars in IMSA Pilot Challenge and related IMSA championships, shared-car endurance racing in American Endurance Racing, and solo sprint events in Mustang Challenge.[1]

Ecklin's record shows two wins in American Endurance Racing in 2019, both in shared-car Class 4 competition. He has also competed in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and Mustang Challenge, adding depth to a career spent across multiple national championships rather than focusing on a single series. In his current 2026 Zenith Racing Series campaign, he has taken two podiums from four rounds and sits eighth in the standings with more racing still to come.[2]

Ecklin competes regularly against a field that includes Gold-graded professionals and series champions. He usually finishes behind Trent Hindman, a Gold-graded professional and two-time IMSA Pilot Challenge champion, but runs closely matched with Frank DePew, a Bronze-graded semi-professional and 2023 IMSA Pilot Challenge GS champion who is his regular opponent in shared cars. He has finished ahead of Chase Briscoe, an elite professional with 219 NASCAR Cup Series starts and the 2016 ARCA Menards Series champion, and Corey Heim, a multi-time NASCAR Truck Series champion with Silver FIA grading, though these were isolated results in endurance fields rather than sustained head-to-head competition.
