Against the regular field Johnson typically finished ahead of developing drivers such as Jay A Nizborski and Carl Tallardy, who between them had accumulated more than seventy PCA starts. In isolated meetings he also beat MO Dadkhah, an entry-level professional competing in national sportscar series including Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and Jade Buford, a Silver-graded driver who raced in NASCAR Xfinity and IMSA competition.
