Steven Cantrell raced in NASA, a national multiclass endurance championship mixing amateur and professional drivers across fifteen classes in a single race. He competed in the Legends Pro and Semi-Pro classes and the Thunder Roadster class, which run 5/8-scale 1930s coupes and purpose-built roadsters powered by motorcycle engines. Cantrell is rated at club level, a developing competitor.[1]
Cantrell made six starts across four seasons from 2007 to 2010, taking four wins and five podiums. His most active season was 2010, when he raced twice and finished fifth in the championship standings with two wins and two podiums from those two rounds.[2]
In the multiclass fields he raced, Cantrell usually finished ahead of Brian Kamisky, a semi-professional who brought experience from ARCA Menards West, and Troy Kamisky, a club-level regular in NASA with forty-five starts there. He beat entry-level professional Scott Sheldon, who had raced NASA and the national ARCA Menards Series, twice in their meetings. His small operation fielded only two drivers across the indexed record, with Cantrell its strongest entry.
