SCCA Majors: FM

SCCA Majors is a multi-class sprint series running spec and production-based cars across single-seater formulae, one-make sports racers, silhouette GTs, and street-derived machinery. The SMX class, fielding spec Mazda MX-5s, is the series' strongest and draws a small professional contingent; most other classes are amateur or mixed amateur-and-silver grids. The field overall is competitive amateur standard, stronger than its direct peer SCCA Regionals and slightly weaker than NASA, though notably lighter in professional standing than either. Top drivers include Alex Barron and Peter Dempsey. SCCA Majors acts as both an entry point from club and regional racing and a holding pattern between SCCA Regionals and the Runoffs; many of its drivers also cycle through NASA and return to regional competition rather than moving upward to sportscar racing.
